The Pacific Birth Collective is seeking a part time Program Coordinator.

Position Summary


Under the guidance of the director, this position will: 
  • Manage and coordinate grant projects and programs (Community Birth Project)

  • Coordinate with social media manager to produce content 

  • Make website updates and help send out newsletters

  • Manage professional online directory

  • Coordinate workshops & events either in person or online 

  • Coordinate and attend monthly Board of Director meetings & take notes as necessary

  • Coordinate scheduling and manage Google calendar 

  • Respond to emails in a timely manner 

  • Manage PBC’s physical space including opening, welcoming, and cleaning up 

  • Coordinating room set up for workshop practitioners 

  • Communicating expectations, signing contracts, and coordinating invoices and paperwork for workshop practitioners 

  • Be willing to examine and address difficult topics 


Qualifications

Required

  • Passionate about supporting birth work (do not have to be a birth worker to apply) 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Flexible mindset & intuitive

  • Work and communicate well with diverse populations 

  • Community relationship and building skills 

  • Experience with non-profits

  • Experience with coordinating events

  • Excellent computer skills and comfortable using and learning new systems.

  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as a team 

  • Skilled in Google Suite 

  • Lived in Hawai’i for at least 2 years  

  • Basic understanding of colonialism in Hawai'i, its effects & how it has shaped the landscape of inequality for the Native Hawaiians & Pacific Islanders 


Strongly Desired

  • Lived in Hawai’i, preferably Maui County, for at least 5 years. 

  • Knowledge of local issues in the birth community.

Wages & Hours

  • Compensation varies upon qualifications 

  • Contractor position (does not include health insurance benefits, PTO, or sick leave) 

  • Part time = 15-18 hours/week, negotiable & with potential to grow
