Director of Finance (Full-Time)
Reports to: Director of Leadership and Operations
Salary: $65K - 70K annually
Pacific Birth Collective seeks a mission-driven and detail-oriented Director of Finance to provide critical financial oversight and strategic grant management. The Director of Finance enforces the strategic goals with an annual budget of $700K-$800K. This role is an exciting opportunity for a financial professional passionate about maternal health to make a measurable impact on families and communities across Hawaiʻi.
As a key member of our team, the Director of Finance will manage financial operations, drive grant success, and use data to demonstrate program effectiveness ensuring financial sustainability and transparency for the organization as a whole.

Position Description:
Strategic Development: Collaborate with the Director of Leadership and Operations, providing quantitative financial insights to support mission-aligned decision-making.
Grant Lifecycle Management: Lead grant writing, management, and reporting, demonstrating program impact through data-driven analysis.
Program Evaluation: Utilize quantitative data to assess program success, particularly around maternal health outcomes.
Financial Management: Oversee accounting functions, budget development, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance and fiscal clarity.
Financial Projections & Budgeting: Contribute to strategic financial planning, including preparation for the organization’s 2026 budget. Prepare cash flow projections and ensure adequate funding.
Filings: Oversee tax filings and all other required filings.
Audit & Compliance: Prepare for and support annual audits, ensuring adherence to nonprofit financial standards and organizational transparency.
Record Keeping: Maintain clean, logical financial records for transparency and accessibility.
Payroll: Collaborate with staff and HR partner to ensure timeliness and accuracy of
Investment and Insurance Oversight: Primary liaison with external investment manager regarding application of investment allocation decisions and monthly reporting. Oversee all insurance policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Work experience equivalent considered.
Minimum of 2 years of experience with nonprofit agencies, grant writing, grant management, or related field.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and audit preparation.
Strong analytical skills, with a track record of data-driven program evaluation.
Familiarity with maternal health and ability to translate health disparities into quantifiable data.
Adaptable, logical, and focused on producing actionable financial insights.

Ensure that Pacific Birth Collective’s financial operations, grant processes, and program funding are effectively managed within established financial, administrative, and program systems.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with funders and community partners to secure funding and promote maternal health and wellness initiatives across Maui County and Hawaiʻi.
Use data to evaluate program impacts, demonstrate effectiveness to funders, and guide strategic financial planning to support organizational growth and sustainability.
