In light of the legislative battle traditional midwives on Hawaii currently face, there is no more pertinent and important time than now to discuss midwifery at its roots. Midwife Carol Gautschi CPM, LM, CIM offers her wisdom and explores how midwives have been moving away from the classical model and toward a more medicalized, and corrupt style that ultimately dehumanizes the sacred process of birth. Come listen, learn, and share in the remembering of the sacred community care model that is classical midwifery care and see how midwives can serve as a bridge to heal the disconnect between hospital birth practices and traditional birth practices.
